Audio In Routing for Elektron Analog Rytm

Two knobs on the FX track's DISTORTION page send the AUDIO IN jacks into the master distortion and compressor, and into the delay and the reverb.

Module version 0.1.0-experimental. Base firmware: 1.74.

About this module

On stock the AUDIO IN jacks reach the sampler, its monitor and USB, and EXT IN joins after the distortion. Audio In Routing plays AUDIO IN through the Rytm's own effects: D (STE) puts it in the analog mix before DIST and COMP, and E (IFX) feeds the delay and the reverb at once. Both at 0, with nothing locked, leave the Rytm as stock.

How to use it

  1. Plug a source into AUDIO IN L and R. Press FX, then FLTR.
  2. Turn D (STE) up: the source plays through COMP and DIST.
  3. Raise AMT to drive it. AMT distorts the drums too: DIST is one stage.
  4. Turn E (IFX) up to send the source to the delay and the reverb.

Controls

STE / MNO
Knob D, DISTORTION page. AUDIO IN into the analog mix before DIST and COMP. 0 is off, 110 passes the converter's level unchanged, 127 is about 1.33x, +2.5 dB. FUNC + turn jumps 0, 110, 127. A stock parameter: kit-saved, parameter, scene and performance locks.
IFX
Knob E, DISTORTION page. AUDIO IN to both the delay and the reverb input, on the same scale. FUNC + turn jumps 0, 110, 127. A stock parameter: kit-saved, parameter, scene and performance locks.
Tap of encoder D
DISTORTION page. A short press with no turn adds L and R to mono on both paths, and the knob reads MNO; another tap goes back to stereo. Not saved: it starts stereo. Not with a trig, FUNC or NO held, a pad held in scene or performance mode, nor in running live recording.

Compatibility notes

Test evidence

On the author's Analog Rytm MKII: AC20 and AC21 (this module beside the RC12 and RC14 sets) passed levels, locks, page copy and clear, kit and pattern saves, scene and performance locks and the mono tap; AC21 fixed a tap blocked by a pad that stock's key table read as held. rytm-emu: both knobs at 0 give digital silence and each reaches the output. Level, noise and latency are not measured.
