QPERF for Elektron Analog Rytm
Set performance locks by holding QPER and turning knobs, apply them to the kit, and record performance moves in LIVE RECORDING.
Module version 0.2.0-experimental. Base firmware: 1.74.
About this module
Hold QPER and turn a knob: it edits that parameter's offset in the performance linked to QPER, and the knob inverts and shows it as it does for a held performance pad. QPER + PLAY clears it and PLAY again undoes that. QPER + RECORD and STOP copy and paste it. QPER + YES writes what you hear into the kit and removes those locks. In LIVE RECORDING the pads, the QPER knob and MIDI performance moves are kept in a quick perf rec that loops with the pattern; RECORD + YES writes it into the pattern as locks, RECORD + NO clears it.
- Sets a lock in the linked performance with one turn
- QPER + PLAY clears the linked performance
- QPER + YES moves them into the kit
- Records pad and QPER knob moves in LIVE RECORDING and plays them back, 8 points a step
How to use it
- Hold QPER, press pad 1 to link its performance, and keep holding.
- Turn FLTR's cutoff up and the resonance a little, and let go of QPER.
- Sweep the QPER knob. Both moves come in together.
- When a position sounds right, hold QPER and press YES to keep it in the kit.
- Hold QPER and press RECORD, press pad 2, then STOP to start another performance from this one.
- Press PERF, hold RECORD and press PLAY. While the pattern plays, press and squeeze pads 1 and 2. Let go and listen to the next pass.
- Hold RECORD and press YES to write the moves into the pattern.
Compatibility notes
- A press with QPER held leaves one link, unlike stock. A kit with several keeps them until then, and shows MORE THAN ONE LINKED.
- The gestures work on the sound pages and in PERF, SCNE, MUTE and CHRO, not in menus.
- Until the QPER knob moves after power on, QPER + YES uses the amounts stock holds.
- Replaces stock's QPER + PLAY, which starts the sequencer.
- Recorded performance moves live in RAM until QPER + YES writes them: a pattern change, project load or power off drops them.
- The move lane holds 64 steps; a track at its own speed gets no locks from it.
