Quick Trig Conditions for Elektron Analog Rytm
Hold a trig in GRID RECORDING: FILL locks FILL, NOT FILL, then no lock; UP and DOWN set a ratio such as 3:8.
Module version 0.2.0-experimental. Base firmware: 1.74.
About this module
Set a trig condition without going to the TRC knob. In GRID RECORDING, hold one or more trigs and press FILL: the trigs get a FILL condition lock. Press again for NOT FILL, and again to remove the lock. UP and DOWN set a ratio: UP steps the first number, DOWN the second, from 1:2 to 8:8. FILL does not engage fill, and a fill latched with FUNC + FILL plays out its loop.
- One press for FILL, a second for NOT FILL, a third to clear
- UP and DOWN reach any ratio from 1:2 to 8:8
- Works on every held trig at once
- FILL, UP and DOWN keep their stock jobs when no trig is held
How to use it
- Press RECORD for GRID RECORDING and open the TRIG page. Place a trig on step 1.
- Hold the trig and press DOWN three times: TRC shows 1:2, 1:3, then 1:4. Play the pattern: the trig sounds on the first of every four loops.
- Keep holding and press UP: 2:4. UP steps the first number, DOWN the second; past 8:8 DOWN clears the lock.
- Hold another trig and press FILL: Fill. Press FILL again for NOT FILL, and once more to clear it. Hold FILL while the pattern plays to hear the fill trig.
Compatibility notes
- Works in GRID RECORDING only: outside it, LIVE RECORDING included, and with QPER held or a menu open, FILL, UP and DOWN stay stock's.
- Trig + UP or DOWN no longer opens the trig's RETRIG menu; trig + RTRG still does.
- Any other condition on the trig is replaced, and stock has no undo for it.
Test evidence
Functional pass on an Analog Rytm MKII for 0.1.0 (FC07) and 0.2.0 (FC09, UP and DOWN ratios), and in rytm-emu; see TESTING.md.
