Quick Velocity+Aftertouch Assign for Elektron Analog Rytm
Link a parameter to velocity or aftertouch by holding FIX or SAMPLER and turning its knob.
Module version 0.1.0-experimental. Base firmware: 1.74.
About this module
Hold FIX and turn any knob on a sound page: that parameter is linked to velocity, and the turn sets how much. Hold SAMPLER and turn to link it to aftertouch instead. While either key is held, every linked knob shows its amount the way stock shows a performance or scene lock. It fills stock's own four velocity and four aftertouch slots of the selected sound, so the links save with the kit, show in SOUND SETTINGS as usual and keep playing on a unit without the mod.
- Velocity or aftertouch to any parameter in one gesture
- Stays on the page you are playing
- Uses stock's slots, saved with the kit
How to use it
- Select a sound track and press FLTR. Hold FIX: FRQ and RES show 0 boxes, the new kit's velocity links.
- Keep FIX held and turn FRQ to the right: its box counts up and FRQ itself does not move. Play soft and hard hits: harder ones open the filter.
- Press AMP, hold SAMPLER and turn DEC: pad pressure now lengthens the decay.
- Hold FIX and press FRQ's knob: the link goes back to 0, and its slot is free for another parameter.
Compatibility notes
- Each sound has four velocity and four aftertouch mods; with all four in use a popup says VELOCITY MODS FULL or AFTERTOUCH MODS FULL.
- A FIX tap toggles fixed velocity on the release instead of the press.
- While FIX or SAMPLER is held, the TRIG page's knobs, knobs turned with a trig held and FUNC + a knob do nothing.
- FUNC + FIX, the FX track and a performance, scene or trig lock edit keep stock's behaviour.
Test evidence
rytm-emu on QM11, QM12 and QM13 (-O2): links, lock-style display, MODS FULL popups, SAMPLER recorder, FIX toggle, PERF, SCNE and the FX track. Author's unit reports: RC18 (QM10: links, display, kit save, reload, power cycle), RC19 (QM11) and QM12 alone (FX track, links, FIX key, save, power cycle) pass.
